Quick summary
Anchor Scope does not collect, store or share any personal data. The app works entirely offline on your device. There are no user accounts, no backend server, no analytics, no personalised advertising tracking.
1. Data we do NOT collect
Anchor Scope is an anchoring calculator that performs all calculations locally on your device. Specifically:
- We do not collect your name, address, email, phone number or other personal identifiers.
- We do not track your GPS location (we do not request location permission).
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- We do not log your sessions, usage duration or interactions.
- We do not send data to remote servers.
2. Cookies and analytics (with your consent)
When you visit this site you can accept or reject the use of analytics and marketing cookies. If you accept, we use the following services:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — anonymous traffic analytics (page views, referrers, approximate country). Cookies:
_ga,_ga_<container-id>(2-year duration). Provider: Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC (transfer to the US under EU-US Data Privacy Framework / UK IDTA). Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. - Mautic — Liberty Dreams' own marketing tracking (self-hosted at libertydreams.co.uk). Cookies:
mtc_id,mtc_sid. Policy: libertydreams.co.uk/privacy-policy.
If you reject, no analytics or marketing cookies are installed. The only strictly necessary cookie is apps_consent, which stores your choice for 365 days. Exempt from consent under Recital 32 of the ePrivacy Directive.
Lawful basis: consent (UK GDPR art. 6.1.a + PECR). You can change your choice at any time via the "Manage cookies" link in the footer, or by deleting the apps_consent cookie in your browser.
3. Advertising (AdMob)
Anchor Scope may show ads served by Google AdMob. These ads:
- Are non-personalised ads by default (compliant with Google Play policies for family-friendly apps).
- May use the Android Advertising ID as a technical identifier, manageable from your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.
- May require an internet connection to download the ad creative. No personal information is transmitted from the app to Google beyond the standard advertising identifier.
- Are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Note: in the current version (1.0.0), AdMob integration is pending activation. Until then, the app contains no advertising components.
4. App permissions
Anchor Scope requests only the minimum permissions needed:
- INTERNET —only if AdMob is active, to load ads. If AdMob is disabled, the app does not use the internet.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE —required by AdMob to detect connectivity.
- WAKE_LOCK / FOREGROUND_SERVICE —internal system management, no privacy impact.
We do NOT request permissions for location, external storage, contacts, calendar, microphone, camera or device sensors.
5. Data on your device
All information you enter into the calculator (boat length, bottom type, wind category, etc.) remains only on your device for the duration of the session. When you close the app, that data is removed.
The app does not write files to device storage beyond the technical temporary cache that the Android system manages itself.
6. Children
Anchor Scope is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children. As a nautical calculation tool with no data collection, age verification does not apply.
7. Changes to this policy
If in the future any functionality is introduced that does collect data (for example, device sync, anchor history saved in the cloud), this policy will be updated visibly before the change. The version and date of the last update appear at the bottom of this document.
8. Legal basis and jurisdiction
Anchor Scope is published by Liberty Dreams LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom. The data processing (standard Android advertising identifier + analytics/marketing cookies under consent) is based on user consent under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For users in the European Union, processing is based on Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR (consent) and the data minimisation principle applies.
